Hugo Awards

I have the good fortune to attend the World Science Fiction Convention about a month from now in Montreal. This gives me the chance to vote for the Hugo Awards. One can also sign up as a supporting member (rather than attending) of Worldcon.

The deadline is today and my ballot has been cast. The ballot allows for a ranked choice, that is placing numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. for the various works. Below are my top fiction choices.

Hope you all have a great weekend. And for those celebrating Independence Day: long fuses and garden hoses are your friends. ;-)

Best Novel: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Best Novella: "The Political Prisoner" by Charles Coleman Finlay

Best Novelette: "The Gambler" by Paolo Bacigalupi

Best Short Story: "26 Monkeys, Also the Abyss" by Kij Johnson

Cambell Award for Best New Writer: David Anthony Durham

Readercon Notes

A few notes and props from the convention this past weekend.

Gone, Baby, Gone

Is there a concise way to write 'every other week'? My dictionary defines biweekly as both every two weeks and twice within a week (I always thought the latter).
