Readercon Notes

A few notes and props from the convention this past weekend.

 

It was good to see Matthew Jarpe again. If you haven't yet read his book Radio Freefall, then I can only imagine you're waiting for the paperback due in November. Why wait? Go pre-order it through Amazon, or better yet through you local independent bookstore.

 

Many thanks to Pam, Ericka, Jeremy, Michael, and Richard for letting me hang with them for dinner one night. Pam's pick of Sichuan Gourmet was excellent.

 

I picked up Acacia at the book dealer's room and got it signed by the author, David Anthony Durham. The book is a dense feast of epic fantasy goodness.

 

Also went to some panels 'n stuff. Best one covered techniques for reading aloud, facilitated by Jim Freund of Hour of the Wolf fame.

 

Finally, if you have been waiting for the conclusion of the
Quabbin adventure, the story is done and has been submitted. I expect the rejection will be swift.

Since the adventure was Top Secret, will the rejection be Top Secret, too? What was swift was the writing of it. Way to be productive!

External Deadlines
